What's your educational background?
I got my Honors Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, majoring in Climate Change back in Nepal. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy at Clark University.
What’s your professional background?
I have previously worked as a communication and research intern in two different NGOs. I worked in the areas of sustainable tourism and youth-driven advocacy that promoted climate resiliency, adaptation, local community development and sustainable practices in the mountain communities.
What sparked your interest in working with the REC?
I am a firm believer in local and grassroot level approaches to social issues and that is one major area REC focuses on. I am passionate about environmental justice and working towards a sustainable future. Apart from that, I saw this as a great opportunity to work with the local communities and youths in Worcester.
What do you spend time doing outside of work?
I spend most of my spare time reading or watching movies and documentaries. I sometimes enjoy cooking as well.
If you were a vegetable, which one would you be?
I would be a tomato. Am I a fruit or a vegetable, you don’t know- Teehee!
